1.Why do I need to wash the DirtTrapper before use?
There are 2 stages in the manufacturing process where the mat is exposed to non stick substances. During the first wash the wax on the cotton and Teflon on the mat are washed off and activate the cotton pile for absorption. It is important to use a washing powder on the first wash.
2.Why does so much cotton lint come off during the first wash?
The DirtTrapper is so absorbent because it is a cut cotton pile that bursts open for maximum absorption. When cut excess cotton fibres are free to fall out of the thread. This will happen for the first few washes but will eventually become minimal.
3.Why can I only wash 2 mats at a time in my washing machine?
For the same reason as why there is sometimes a lot of lint we suggest washing a maximum of 2 regular sized (75x45cm) at a time to avoid clogging your machine. Always check your lint traps in your machine before and after each wash.
4.How long will my DirtTrapper last?
Your DirtTrapper should last between 3 to 5 years. We often hear of customers that have had them for up to 10 years but do not want to make you have unrealistic expectations.
5.Can you print logo's on the DirtTrapper mat?
Unfortunately at this stage this is not possible. We are looking into it and will keep you posted on the website.
